Please take care with these Ravelry links, especially if you’ve not visited in a while or haven’t updated your settings or were maybe logged out - the new site has caused seizures, vertigo, migraines and more.

With everything as it is - Ravelry still unsafe for many disabled knitters and my shiny new website not yet finished - I can’t in good conscience plough ahead and run an MKAL and hold it on a forum that is excluding a number of users. With the MKAL being what it is, trying to split support between Ravelry and my Facebook group would be unmanageable for me, so this year there’s no MKAL. Or at least, there’s no November MKAL - I may be able to muster something for a few months time! (but no promises)

But that doesn’t mean there won’t be a KAL! In fact, one of my Patreon supporters suggested having a KAL to knit any unfinished or missed MKALs over the years and I thought that a rather splendid idea. And so we have the #WWreKAL!

The KAL will be held on both Facebook and Ravelry. All of the patterns have been knit before, there’s no mystery, and there’s plenty of support on the Ravelry forums for these patterns already that can be used to help folk in both groups. So we’re on.

Over the last 12 years we’ve worked through 17 unique Hat patterns! Seventeen! Which is like, a lot. So there’s plenty to choose from and we would love to see what your needles magic up.

So here’s the deal. There are 16 premium patterns and one free one (Meret, the very first). You can use a pattern you already have, use the free one of buy one (or as many as you think you may want to knit) with the discount code WWreKAL. The code works on all platforms where I can set a discount - here, Payhip, Etsy and Ravelry - and expires the night before we cast on. And we cast on 1st November, just like we always did.

Because there are so many of them, I’ll add a link for this website to each image below, and from that link you’ll find your way to the pattern’s listing on the other platforms. There’s nifty little buttons that take you right there!

There are indeed more than 17 images here, and that’s because some of them come in different flavours. Which kinda means that there’s more than 17 to choose from, right?

So to recap! If there’s one year you missed or didn’t quite complete, why not join us. If one of your MKAL Hats went walkabouts or there was a technique that you weren’t so sure about but would love to tackle it now, then we’d love to see you cast on with us on 1st November. If you’ve never knit any of the mystery Hats but would love to join the community and comradery that is the knitalong then grab yourself a pattern, yarn and needles, and we’ll see you on the 1st November :)

Use code WWreKAL (it’s the same as the hashtag!) to get 20% off any of these patterns between now and 31st October. Even if you’re not sure whether you can make it, enjoy the discount on me anyways.

And finally… I’m mustering up some yarny prizes. Not sure yet what those will be but there will definitely be yarn.
